In this course, we will consider why assessment is critically important to the work we do, what assessments we use, and how we use data from them to support student academic growth. After completion of this course, you will be able to:
Explain why assessments and data are integral to our work as educators;
Explain the difference between growth, progress, and achievement as well as the difference between formative and summative assessment;
Review the organization’s primary assessments for diagnostic, growth, and proficiency measurements;
Recognize your role and the expectations related to assessment implementation and use of resulting data;
Explain what FERPA is and how to protect student information and privacy.
