Welcome to Designing for Adult Learning!


This course will take approximately 1.5-2 hours to complete. Time estimates are provided for each lesson.

This course is designed for people who want to learn more about instructional design and for teams at LLAC who want to create content for Lifelong University. In this course, you will be introduced to adult learning theory, professional learning standards, and the components of designing and planning content for learning. This course is a pre-requisite for designing content for Lifelong University.

Learning Objectives:
During this course, you will:
  • Work through a needs assessment,
  • Explore different types of professional development offerings, and
  • Practice writing learning goals and objectives.

While you can choose how you move through this course, it is recommended you follow the sequence of lessons as presented, as each builds on the previous.
