Welcome to Educator Foundations: Curriculum & Instruction!

In this course we explore the design theories behind Lifelong Learning’s curriculum, look at a few key curriculum and instruction resources, and explain a few of our educational models. The module also defines quality teaching and teaching strategies using Hattie’s top three strategies and the 4 essential learning questions of aPLC. 

After completion of this module, learners will be able to:

  • Explain the UbDand 5E model for lesson planning used in the design and development ofLifelong Learning curriculum. 
  • Explore and explain the use and purpose of key curriculum & instruction resources and our curriculum.
  • Explain the different instructional models and the instructor’s role.
  • Plan instructional opportunities for your role as an IS, Pod, or SGI instructor using curriculum in your content area.
  • Explain what a Professional Learning Community is, how and why they work.
  • Identify the 4 PLC Questions.
This course will take approximately 45 minutes to complete. Time estimates are provided for each lesson.
